New Glutz bearing technology / Tested to EN 1609

The on-going enhancement of our product range enabled us to present two market innovations last year: Glutz glide and Glutz needle bearings. These two innovations are used in our Professional Line door systems.

Glutz glide is a sliding bearing made of a heavy-duty polymer, providing noticeably smoother bearing operation than the steel-on-steel solutions usually found today. In addition to ease of use, Glutz glide has outstanding technical characteristics: fire-rated, extremely hard-wearing, self-lubricating, designed for dry operation and hence maintenance-free.

The same quality characteristics can be found in Glutz needle bearings. Compact design also enables a slim, elegant lever handle bearing solution. Hardened needles made of chrome nickel steel minimise rolling friction, resulting in a long service life even under great radial stress. Both sliding bearings can be assembled in tandem to form a twin version, thus providing a double-length lever handle guide.

Our new patented fixed mobile connection: Glutz easy fix. Glutz easy fix is a specially developed snap-on / plug-in connection which creates a fixed mobile link between the lever handle and the escutcheons and roses. Retaining guide sections with the same dimensions in the escutcheons and base plates make it possible to apply different types of bearing, such as Glutz glide, Glutz needle bearings and the two Glutz twin versions, without increasing the space required by the guide in the door leaf. Outstanding benefits:

* With Glutz easy fix, fixed mobile assembly can be carried out on-site.

* Large number of options, cutting costs on warehousing and transport.

It's not a paradox, it's Glutz: Emergency escape via panic lock. Two of our heavy-duty mortice locks have been tested to EN179 in combination with our panic lever handle fittings, and should be installed wherever increased security is called for: lock 1230 with panic function E and lock 1231 with panic function D. Converting existing doors to emergency escape doors is no problem, as both locks have the same dimensions as our standard heavy-duty mortice locks.

EN179 is the European standard for emergency escape doors, i.e. single operation of a lever handle opens the door via the lock.

EN1125 however, requires that it should be sufficient merely to lean on the panic bar to open the emergency escape route. With the 8600 panic fitting and our 1230/31 panic lock, Glutz has developed a solution for you should the unexpected happen.

Glutz AG refuses to compromise on security and fire protection. We are members of various national and international standard bodies and regularly undergo external examination by recognised testing agencies. Our emphasis on quality means that Glutz locks and fittings conform to the highest possible requirements. That is why our products are not only much respected in the domestic and European markets, but also in the Middle and Far East.

This new Glutz hinge is made up of one component - meaning shorter assembly times. Fixing the threaded spindle makes it possible to secure the hinge in the seat pocket element without any play. Even on particularly heavy doors the covering angle will not distort.

This element can also be used on the frame of doors where it is screwed onto the fixing plate as a complete system. Our new spacers prevent washers from slipping during assembly. These spacers are clamped into the fixing plate with clamping elements.
