Triumph is back on track with Ina

Britain's only remaining major motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph, has returned to the race track after an absence of over 30 years and is set to restore its reputation as a sporting heavyweight, in partnership with respected racing specialists ValMoto, and a brand new cutting-edge machine - the Triumph Daytona 600.

Triumph has been a long term customer of INA Bearing Company and uses INA bearings and tappets in many of their engine, transmission and frame applications. It is INA’s sealed, precision angular contact bearings that are used in the steering head assembly of the new Daytona 600 Triumph has always felt that racing would form part of its long-term marketing strategy," said Ross Clifford, Triumph's Commercial and Racing Manager at the Silverstone team launch. "However it was important for us to first establish a strong manufacturing and distribution base. As the development of the Daytona 600 progressed it became clear that we had a British designed and manufactured bike that, with the help of one of the most successful and experienced teams in British racing, was capable of taking on the best in the world and winning."

"This return to competition is a monumental event for Triumph," continued Ross Clifford, "and we are looking forward immensely to developing a world-class race bike as an extension of our on-going sportsbike programme."

Almost a year since a near disastrous fire destroyed most of their manufacturing plant in Leicestershire, wiping out production for six months, Triumph have now exceeded their pre-fire output with a daily production rate of 175 motorcycles. Their return to motorcycle racing proves they are well and truly back on track.
