New hydrodynamic pressure bearings from Quality Bearings & Components feature 30% weight savings and are designed for light applications.

They are formed by stacking laminated aluminum-silicon alloy plates that are housed in a stainless steel case with pylori-thickened grease containing antioxidant and anticorrosion additives. The inner faces of the laminated plates act as the bore of the assembled bearing, according to the company's press release.

The seven bearings have inner diameters of 1-6 mm and a maximum speed range of 6,000-20,000 rpm.
