Hybrid ceramic ball bearings from Koyo |
|
August 17, 2005 By: Mark Harris Hybrid ceramic ball bearings from KoyoThe 3NC hybrid ceramic ball bearings from Koyo Corp. are suited for extreme applications where high temperatures, high speed or electric flow threaten the viability of traditional steel ball bearings. Because the bearing is insulated, there is no threat of electric arcing or fluting. Being 60% lighter than steel ball bearings, these products allow performance at speeds up to 50% higher. According to Koyo's press release, the bearings also have a lower temperature rise at high speeds, greater rigidity and longer seizure life. About
